Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your account for the Jiyi app (published by Depeur UG (haftungsbeschränkt)) and what happens to your data when you do. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

How to delete your account

• Open Jiyi and go to the More tab.
• Tap Delete account and confirm. For security you may be asked to sign in again first.

This immediately and permanently deletes your sign-in account. Content stored on our servers that was tied to it (see below) is removed within 30 days.

What gets deleted

• Your sign-in account (Apple, Google or email).
• Your public profile and @handle.
• Vocabulary lists you published, including their cover images.
• Voice recordings and other media you uploaded.
• Your synced app settings (name, learning preferences, progress counters).
• Customer data held with our subscription provider (subscription status linked to your account).

What is kept, and for how long

• Local data on your device (your private lists and study progress) is stored only on your device — remove it by uninstalling the app.
• Purchase recordsare held by Apple App Store / Google Play; we cannot delete those. Manage or cancel subscriptions directly in your store account.
• Backups containing your data are rotated out within 30 days of deletion.
• Records we are legally required to retain (e.g. invoicing under German commercial law) are kept only as long as the law requires.
